JOB DESCRIPTION
You will work closely with your colleagues to identify customers' needs, offering honest, tailored advice that will help build long-term relationships and protect our customers' families, futures and finances.
You will be advising customers on some of the best mortgage products in the industry and you'll engage with customers to work out their exact mortgage needs and how best to meet them. And while mortgages will be your specialty, you'll also advise on everything from credit cards to insurance policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates of the Mortgage Consultant role have a strong understanding of appraisals, title reports and product guidelines with strong persuasion skills with the ability to quickly build connections over the phone.
Additional requirements of Mortgage Consultant role include:
- Experience in the mortgage sales or banking industry, required
- Mortgage licenses, strongly preferred
- Must maintain mortgage licenses by completing mandatory annual continuing education courses
- Persuasive, sales and communication skills
- Detailed oriented with careful decision making skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while staying organized and meeting deadlines
- Effective working in a fast-paced, sales environment
- Ability to pass a background check for state licensing
DESIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Proven sales experience
- Professional sales interviewing skills
- General knowledge of the Mortgage process
- Full CeMAP held
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of people in a customer service, retail and / or broker environment
- Evidence of effective communication skills
- Ability to work both as part of a team and on your own, to adapt to new situations and use initiative
- Ability to encourage and motivate yourself and others
